York Mills and Don Mills would be the second last stop on the northeastern end of the Downtown Relief Line, serving the Graydon Hall neighbourhood and the York Mills employment district.

The location of this stop would need to be studied in greater depth. At its current proposed location at York Mills, density is much lower than the surrounding area as a result of a valley and a golf course. While the station would still serve the neighbourhoods outlined above, most would be more than a 10 minute walk from the station. If the station was to be moved north from York Mills to Graydon Hall, density would increase from 30 people + jobs/hectare (ppj/ha) to 71 ppj/ha., bringing a much greater number of passengers within a 10 minute walk of the station.

On the other hand, neglecting to place a station at a major intersection such as York Mills while instead choosing to locate at a local road has no precedence in the TTC's history. While Graydon Hall would have a much larger number of passengers within its catchment area, York Mills is a major arterial that can still be accessed relatively quickly from the Graydon Hall neighbourhood. The question becomes whether greater density levels or important arterial roads are more important when locating stations. Due to the TTC's history, I have chosen to locate the station at York Mills, but would certainly not be opposed to it being at Graydon Hall instead.

Despite the low density around York Mills, the area is not well suited to redevelopment. The location of the intersection in the middle of a valley means that there is little suitable land to build new condos, apartments, or businesses on. If located at York Mills, much of the traffic that the station will see will be a result of short bus trips to and from the Graydon Hall neighbourhood and the York Mills employment district, as well as the York Mills bus.
