Stock Yards station is located at the GO Weston Tracks and St. Clair Avenue West. It will provide subway service to the north Junction Gardens as well as the Stock Yards neighbourhoods; it will also connect with the 41+ Keele, 71 Runnymede, 127 Davenport, and 168+ Symington buses and the 512 St. Clair streetcar.

The area around Stock Yard station is currently undergoing a transformation from an industrial area towards a more residential area as seen by the recent residential developments north of St. Clair Avenue West at both Weston Road and Symes Road. Stock Yards station will shorten the time spent traveling to downtown Toronto for the residents of this up and coming area.

There is a large potential for redevelopment in the area of the Stock Yards stations. There is currently a large former factory that is now an abandoned lot, located just west of Stock Yards, that is ideally suited for residential redevelopment as this formerly industrial area continues towards a more residential area. As this trend towards a more residential neighbourhood continues there are a number of future opportunities for redevelopment around Stock Yards station.

Stock Yards serves as a valuable transfer station for a number of preexisting surface routes. A station at this location will help speed up the trip downtown for riders from the west.
